Director of Marketing

Magellan Promotions is adding a Director of Marketing to our team, to grow our company through strategic and targeted marketing. The Director of Marketing would be responsible for implementing campaigns and strategies to engage our target audiences and provide promotional product marketing solutions to their marketing challenges. These audiences include a wide variety of businesses and nonprofits across a wide spectrum of industries, as well as our specific niche of Universities and strategic departments on their campuses.

The promotional product industry is a relationship business, so engagement and solution-based marketing is key to fueling Magellan Promotions continued growth.


The purpose of the Director of Marketing (also referred to as DM) position is drive Magellan Promotions’ growth through gaining new clients and increasing sales to current customers. This will be achieved through various direct and indirect marketing activities. To accomplish this, the DM position encapsulates a wide range of responsibilities, including managing, and maintaining creative digital assets, outreach initiatives, conference planning, maximizing client interaction opportunities and maintenance of data. In addition, the DM will become an evangelist of the power of promotional products, using industry data, case studies and external information to support the “why” in marketing initiatives.

The key digital responsibilities for this position revolve around content creation and maintenance of the Magellan Promotions website. This includes managing and updating the website to provide positive first impressions and a favorable user experience. The DM will also be responsible for reviewing the effectiveness of digital content and maximizing SEO opportunities. Created content includes, but is not limited to, blogs, case studies, and sell sheets. This content will also be shared directly with our customers via monthly e-newsletters. The DM will also manage all content for the Magellan Promotions’ social media pages and be responsible for engaging and growing our social audiences.

Magellan Promotions regularly sends promotional product targeted mailings and electronic marketing messages to clients and prospects.  The Director of Marketing will be responsible for identifying solution-based opportunities, coordination and execution of these marketing initiatives in conjunction with the Director of Accounts.  The DM will create and edit all promotional content for Magellan Promotions, and this position must be able to demonstrate excellent writing skills, specifically tailored for sales.

Throughout the year, Magellan Promotions participates in two to three major industry trade shows and events. The Director of Marketing will manage these events and ensure flawless implementation of strategy and work to make sure that our strategic goals are attained.

The Director of Marketing will also be responsible for the creation of various client programs, including an onboarding and touchpoint program, referral process, and client feedback surveys.

Finally, the Director of Marketing will be responsible for maintaining our client lists and segmenting that data by industry, channel and geographic region. When necessary, this position will perform market research, competitive analysis, and product research to ensure that Magellan Promotions stays an industry leader in promotional products marketing.


  • Bachelor’s degree with 5-10 years of applicable marketing experience in business-to-business or in higher education.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with strategic content creation.
  • Proven ability to lead, manage and support projects and prioritize & drive strategic objectives.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and coordinate and implement all marketing functions for the business.
  • Ability to work through projects to identify opportunities to solve problems for clients.
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills.
  • Experience with WordPress or other CMS, SEO, Google Analytics, Constant Contact, Adobe Creative Suite and CRM databases.

Account Manager

The key to our success is providing the best customer service in the industry to our clients. We are looking for a service-minded individual to join our outstanding team of Account Managers, working with our clients on a daily basis to find the promotional product marketing solutions that will help achieve their marketing goals.

The Account Manager position is a multi-faceted, dynamic role where no two days are the same. Our Account Managers interact with our clients on a daily basis managing active projects, providing creative solutions, building strong client relationships and more. Throughout the week, an Account Manager will work on an average of 30 projects with a variety of different clients.

This is a perfect position for a creative and organized individual who is a problem solver and truly loves to help others.


The Account Manager position is an outstanding opportunity for an individual who wants to be a part of a team and have their own scope of responsibility. A successful Account Manager enjoys helping a number of clients on a daily basis, is organized and able to manage multiple projects that vary in depth, scope and intricacy. The Account Manager oversees an ever-expanding group of clients and helps them market effectively through promotional products, apparel, awards and event signage. This position takes the lead on their projects and is responsible for their client’s satisfaction. Through this position the Account Manager is able to directly see how their efforts help their clients and build our business.

The main responsibilities of this position include:

  • Interfacing with clients and prospects on a daily basis, providing industry leading customer service
  • Quoting projects based on client requests within 24 hours of receipt
  • Processing, managing, and tracking client orders throughout the supply chain
  • Maintain CRM database and various project tracking documents
  • Maintain a high rate of customer satisfaction across all clients
  • Crafting and presenting effective quote presentations to clients in-person and via online-conference on a weekly basis

This position reports to the Director of Accounts, and works extensively with the Director of Marketing and the Account Management team.


  • Five to ten years of proven customer service experience and a Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field. Experience working in the marketing or sales industry is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate with customers in a professional and clear manner. Exceptional written communication skills are required.
  • Comfortable with handling multiple projects at one time, without dropping the ball. Ability to respond to all customer emails during business hours, which can exceed 100+ during peak sales season.
  • Working knowledge of CRM databases and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to follow sales and service processes put in place by Magellan Promotions.
  • Experience with the following software programs is a plus but not required: Adobe Creative Suite, Quickbooks
